Role of Kenjōgo (Humble Language)
Kenjōgo is primarily used for your own actions. By lowering (herikudaru/へりくだる) your own actions, you indirectly raise (takame/高め) the other person, conveying feelings of respect (sonkei/尊敬). For example, saying “(I) will contact (you).” (Watashi ga renraku shimasu.) is not wrong in Japanese. However, using the humble form “(I) will contact (you)” (Watashi ga go-renraku shimasu / itashimasu.) shows deference (kei-i/敬意) to the other person.

自分の行動を低(ひく）めるて、間接的（かんせつてき）に相手を高め（たかめ）、**尊敬（そんけい）**する気持ちを伝えます。
例えば、「（私が）連絡します。」と言っても間違いではありません。しかし、謙譲語にした形の**「（私が）ご連絡します/いたします。」を使った方が、相手に敬意（けいい）**を示すことができます。

Verbs
You make your actions toward the other person humble.
The form uses the Group 3 verbs (verbs ending in shimasu) with “go”: “go + two kanji + shimasu”. Using “go + two kanji + itashimasu” gives a more polite (teinei/丁寧) and formal (arata-matta/改まった) impression (inshō/印象). In Business Japanese, itashimasu is often used.

相手に向かう自分の行動を謙譲語にします。
③グループ動詞（＝「します」で終わる動詞）に「ご」をつけて使います。「ご＋漢字2字＋します」
「ご＋漢字2字＋いたします」を使うと、より丁寧（ていねい）で改（あらた）まった印象（いんしょう）を与（あた）えることができます。ビジネス日本語では「いたします」を使うことが多いです。
